During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

49954 03/06/2024 NCI Boscastle HMCG called NCI re. vessel lost power, but it was out of visual range. NCI later established visual as visibility improved. 49977 03/06/2024 NCI St Donat's Bay MOP reported to HMCG concern for a swimmer. CG called NCI who reported swimmer had left slipway, well equipped and had been monitored. Swimmer returned to safety of slipway, CG advised. MCA/HMCG No Yes 518443

49950 02/06/2024 NCI Porthcawl NCI observed 3 teens on inflatable being pushed down estuary on ebbing tide. casualties waving. HMCG informed, camera link established. ILB and CRT tasked. 2 Casualties then got into water, trying to, swim. 1 casualty reached shore, and adult tried to recover dinghy in chest deep water. ILB reached casualties to check they were OK. Search requested, initially wrong vessel identified, then correct vessel seen at river entrance, but Sea Start unable to proceed due to sea state., Vessel drifting, but no injuries aboard. Original casualty was safely ashore, but a second was stranded on the mud. ILB unable to reach due to, lack of water.
