During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

AWLB tasked, NCI advised CG they had visual., Race control advised details of casualty. LB located casualty and advised it was dismasted, 1 POB and a trimaran. 50053 13/06/2024 NCI Whitstable 2 catamarans launched and one capsized 100mtrs from shore. Unable to right boat, despite assistance. RIB from local dredger helped right the vessel. 50013 09/06/2024 NCI Stone Point A DSC alert was received from a vessel close to NCI. HMCG called NCI re. yacht in the position indicated. 50026 09/06/2024 NCI Exmouth RNLI called NCI re. 4 swimmers in difficulty. NCI confirmed visual, and conned ILB to casualties, HMCG called re. 2 further swimmers and requested observation. ILB recovered all 6 safely. RNLI No Yes 519326

50003 09/06/2024 NCI Rhoscolyn NCI observed a small gorse fire close to the lookout. W/K doused fire and it appeared to be out. The fire then reignited and continued to smoulder despite further attempt to extinguish. HMCG informed., Fire service consulted and W/Ks advised to leave lookout. 49997 05/06/2024 NCI Felixstowe NCI observed a yacht aground at river entrance, just after high tide. HMCG informed. Several FVs tried to assist, without success.
