Point Lynas

Welcome to the NCI Point Lynas station.
We are situated at the extremity of the Llaneilian promontory, tucked inbetween the Lighthouse and its discontinued Fog Station. It's a great spot, if somewhat exposed.
To the east we can see the Great Orme, to the west we have Amlwch port, East Mouse & Middle Mouse. On a good day the mountains of the Isle of Man peep above the horizon.
Dolphins and porpoises frequently play in the tides off the Point and we have a resident seal in Freshwater Bay.
Our nearest RNLI station is Moelfre, with its Tamar ALB.

Visitor Policy
Visitors are very welcome, though we have to ask you to stay outside the cabin and maintain social distancing.
Access

Access to the station is via a footpath round Point Lynas Lighthouse from the approach road. Parts of the path run close to the cliff edge, can be slippery, and require care.

The site is not accessible by wheelchair.

Local Hazards
Tidal races exist all around the Point with rates of up to 5 knots and extensive overfalls. Waves of over 10m may be expected in Northerly storm conditions. Rocky outcrops with steep, open, cliffs. On land, surfaces can be slippery in rain and the whole area is very exposed. The shape of the land masses leads to severe gusts in strong winds.
