Visitor Policy
The Senior Watchkeeper will be responsible for all those present in the building, including visitors. Visitors will be asked to vacate the building if there is any danger to life or limb. When the fire alarms are sounded, all personnel will be directed out of the building using the Fire Escape Route. All personnel will be directed to the Muster Point at least 30 metres up wind of the Tower.
When the station becomes involved in a SAR incident, visitors will be asked to leave the room immediately so that operations can be dealt with undisturbed.
Access
The Tower is a four story tower (this includes the viewing balcony on the third level). The ground floor is a public area, the first floor is for the use of the Rangers and the second floor is the NCI Station.
Local Hazards
King Scar Shale banking 330°Rossall Point Tower 1.9nm approx 1/2 nm in length running 240/060 50 to 75 yards in width.
Numerous sandbanks and gullys leading out to King Scar can result in the unwary becoming trapped by incoming tides which have up to 10 metre range.
