14th April 2023. The volunteer duty Watchkeeper at the National Coastwatch Institution station at Cape Cornwall was recently contacted by HM Coastguard at Falmouth to ask if they could locate a yacht that had reported they had lost all of their electrical power. The yacht had reported their position as South-South West of Cape Cornwall. The Watchkeeper quickly located the vessel and reported back to HM Coastguard at Falmouth who asked; the Watchkeeper to maintain observation of the yacht until it cleared Lands End promontory on an Easterly heading, approximately one nautical mile off-shore.
