26th May 2022. The volunteer watchkeepers of the National Coastwatch Institution station at Exmouth will be opening up their watchtower for members of the public over the Queens Platinum Jubilee weekend.
On Thursday, 2nd June the National Coastwatch station will open their doors to visitors to demonstrate the work they carry out supporting HM Coastguard and the RNLI along with the Harbour Master and other organisations. In addition, Karen Goldby, NCI Exmouth’s newly appointed Water Safety Officer, will also be present to provide guidance and information. There will be quizzes, children’s activities and learning about water safety on our beaches.
On Saturday, 4th June the Queen’s Jubilee Exmouth Rowing Club Race will be taking place and Ivor Jones, the NCI Exmouth Station Manager, will be presenting a newly designed trophy, the Queen’s Jubilee Cup, to the winners of this race. A spokesperson from NCI Exmouth urged people to go along and watch the racing from noon when the heats will commence.
