24th April 2022. The volunteers at the National Coastwatch Institution station were pleased to receive a surprise visit from the Commander of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at Milford Haven.

On Sunday afternoon Nicola Davis (MRCC Commander Milford Haven)  called in to NCI Porthcawl after attending the naming ceremony of the new Porthcawl RNLI D Class Lifeboat "Hugo Missen". A spokesperson for NCI Porthcawl said “Thanks for calling in Nicola. Your visit was very much appreciated”..
