23rd April 2022.  The volunteers of the National Coastwatch Institution at Hegistbury Head had good reason to celebrate St Georges day today, thanks to a sponsored 5 mile trek.

NCI Hengistbury Head station has been nominated by Westbourne Rotary Club as one of their good causes this year. The President of Westbourne Rotary Club, Christopher Colledge, is also a watchkeeper at NCI Hengistbury Head.

Chris said “The Rotary Club of Westbourne today had a St. Georges Day Walk to raise funds for my two chosen charities for the year, the National Coastal Watch Institution station at Hengistbury Head and Macmillan Caring Locally. Thank you to the Mayor of Bournemouth for attending and also those people that walked and sponsored the 5 mile trek. Also my grateful thanks to Rotarian Susie Burridge for organising the event”.
