The road down to Hive Beach is narrow but straight and has pinchpoints giving priority to exiting traffic. Pedestrians and, occasionally, livestock may be on the road.
There are two NT carparks at Hive Beach and the closest one to us is the western, grassed, one but that is usally closed in Winter to allow the ground to recover. There is a track down from this carpark to the Lookout. The rerouted cliffpath goes through this carpark.
A few yards further away is the eastern, gravel-based, carpark. From here, you can walk below the café and up to the Lookout.
Note: if approaching from the west along the beach from Freshwater, a cliff fall on 05 March 2020 at Hive Beach means you may now get cut off at high tide so please check tide times before setting out.
