
3rd May 2021.The National Coastwatch Institution has unveiled its latest station with the opening of a seasonal station at Brancaster on the north coast of Norfolk.
After discussions with HM Coastguard and the local populace, NCI agreed to deploy one of the demountable trailers at Brancaster in advance of the high number of visitors expected this year. A spokesman for NCI Brancaster said “The station opened for business on Monday 3rd May, and we were awash with visitors on the opening day, all of whom are delighted that we're there, HMCG in particular.”, They added that although staffing the watch is challenging at the moment. Volunteers from nearby National Coastwatch are providing help and support.
The NCI station at Brancaster has been established initially as a seasonal arrangement but local people are already indicating that they would like there to be a permanent station at Brancaster.
