24th October 2021. The organisers of last month's Yarmouth Sea Songs and Shanties Festival have presented NCI Needles with a cheque for £3000.
The money was raised from collections and donations at the free event, a significant proportion of which was collected the volunteers of the National Coastwatch Institution themselves. The festival, now in its third year, enjoyed record crowds and plans are already afoot to bring the event back next year.
Terry Dimmick, Station Manager of NCI Needles said “NCI Needles are extremely grateful to receive this donation, as like many charities, our fundraising opportunities have been limited during the last eighteen months. The donation will be used to support the daily function of the watch station and enable the Watch keepers to continue to provide support to our Search and Rescue partners with 'Eyes along the Coast' for another 365 days.”
The photograph shows Annette Gibb (NCI Fund Raising Officer), Chris Beane (Festival Treasurer), Chris Waddington (Festival Chairman), Terry Dimmick (NCI Station Manager), Lesley and Don Tregear (Festival Committee) presenting the cheque.
