VISITING UKULELE PLAYERS HOLD A INPROMPTU COLLECTION FOR NCI LYME BAY

21st October 2022. The Team at the National Coastwatch Institution station at Lyme Bay received the following letter.

“We are a trio of ukulele players from Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and play together for fun. We came down to Dorset for a few days away to spend some time together to practice some new songs. The thought of raising money had not entered our heads until whilst playing on The Cob at Lyme Regis someone offered money to us. We then decided to play next to the Lifeboat station and put out one of their buckets for donations.

Our final day took us to The Hive at Burton Bradstock. We spoke with a watchkeeper on duty at the National Coastwatch Institution station at Lyme Bayn and she kindly gave us one of their collection boxes .As a result we raised just over £55  for this worthy charity.

We came away from our break with a great sense of achievement knowing that we had raised monies to help the local charitable organisations. This has now inspired us to continue to do this for our own local charities.”
