27th June 2023 For the volunteers of the National Coastwatch Institution station at Point Lynas, on the tip of Anglesey, July will see the end of an era but a new beginning.
With the ending of the lease, the station at Point Lynas will be demolished and removed from the headland in early uly but that doesn’t mean that Watches will cease. A spokesperson for NCI Point Lynas said “Regular visitors to NCI Point Lynas will already know we are on the move. Our new station is already in place on the headland above Port Amlwch. You can still contact us on VHS Channel 65 for radio checks and weather reports - our call sign is now NCI Port Amlwch. Sot it's business as usual - just from the new watch station on the headland with great views”
