19th October 2021. The volunteer watchkeepers from NCI Holehaven have now moved into their brand-new purpose built station situated in the grounds of the Canvey Island Yacht Club. They are now open and operational as NCI Canvey Island

The area is one of the busiest in the country for call outs to rescue people in difficulty - as Station Manager Grahame Harris explains: “Because of the tidal situation, which can catch out unwary visitors and the large numbers who enjoy being on the sea, the Coastguard record more incidents around the Canvey and Southend area establishing the Southend RNLI Station as the busiest in the country."
