14th December 2022. After three years NCI Cape Cornwall were able to hold their Annual Presentation Evening at The Commercial Hotel in St Just. The evening was well attended by our Watchkeepers and Partners, along with our invited guests Andrew Williams, Lord High Sheriff of Cornwall, Ms Sue James, Mayor of St Just and Pendeen, Ms Annie Coak, Honorary President of NCI Cape Cornwall, Ms Leslie Suddes, Chairman Emeritus of NCI and NCI Trustee Jonathan Rothwell.
Station Manager Richard Saynor said “Awards went to a number of our watchkeepers for Long Service and Special Achievements, including 5 years Long Service to Hugh Thomas, Richard Saynor, Jennifer Tucson, Sarah Bell, Russell Durbridge and David Wraight :10 years Long Service to: Peter Winterson, Pauline van der Hoff, Jonathan Rothwell, Constance Moore and Sheila Russell: 15 years Long Service to Mick Trimming, Alan McRea and Peter Munday and 20 years Long Service: Pat Stanton-Nadin. Awards for Special Achievements went to: Clive Walker and Mark Shaw for the most watches 2022 (51 Watches each), Mike Hoad for the most ‘A’ watch Duty Officers in 2022 ( 73 early mornings), Hugh Thomas for his wildlife observations and Peter Munday and Peter Winterson for going beyond the call of duty.” Richard concluded the evening by thanking the members for their continued support to NCI Cape Cornwall, and thanking their wives, husbands and partners for their support.
