19th August 2022. The watch stations of the National Coastwatch Institution and the volunteer watchkeepers always appreciate a word of thanks for what they do and they do like people to come and visit, They are always happy to explain what we do, although they might not be able to accommodate visitors if they are dealing with an incident

In the early evening of 19th August NCI Canvey Island were visited by Rebecca Harris who posted the following message on social media “I was recently invited for a visit to the new Canvey Coastwatch station, NCI Canvey Island on the East of the island after helping them with a problem they were having with BT.

It was great to see the station fully operational and a massive thank you to all the volunteers who kept watch on the busy estuary for people in distress during the hot weather and who continue to give up their time to keep over our bit of the Thames every week.”
