LUCKY NUMBER 13 HELPS NCI PORTHDILLAEN RAISE OVER £800

19th June 2022. Recently, 12 hardy souls comprising of Watchkeepers from the National Coastwatch Institution station at Porthdillaen, along with family, friends and 2 dogs, braved driving rain and gusty winds on a sponsored walk. They raised £806 to boost the station’s funds. The walk’s nominal distance was ten miles, but this increased to twelve with detours to the Watchstation and ‘Ty Coch’, the famous local pub on the beach!

The smiles on the participant’s faces suggest they enjoyed themselves despite the inclement weather. However, the person with the biggest smile doesn`t appear in the picture. He’s ‘Lucky Number 13’, the Watchkeeper who had other commitments on the day of the walk; so, he completed it the day before in beautiful weather!

All Porthdinllaen’s Watchkeepers thank their generous sponsors, the family and friends who supported them by taking part. Plus, of course, Jenny Wilson (Fundraising Officer) and Colin, her husband, who put a lot of effort into organizing the event.
