THE LIGHTS GO ON AT NCI PORTHDINLLAEN

1st August 2022. The ambition to have mains electricity connected to the somewhat isolated Watch Station at NCI Porthdinllaen probably goes back to 2009 when, former NCI Trustee, David Littlemore started work on the restoration of the old Coastguard tower. Now, finally, in July this year the lights are on!

A resolute team of people, including David who is still a Watchkeeper, have worked very hard to coordinate everyone involved in laying the cable and making the connection. And none of this would have been possible without some very generous donations, the ongoing fund-raising activities carried out by the station Watchkeepers, and additional finance from the main National Coastwatch Institution Organization. The Watchkeepers at Porthdinllaen wish to express their sincere thanks to all who have contributed to a successful outcome.
