CORNISH NCI STATIONS TAKE PART IN PENZANCE WATER SAFETY DAY

17th June 2023 Penzance Water Safety Day took place on Penzance Promenade today.

Devon and Cornwall Police, HM Coastguard, the Fire Service and volunteers from the National Coastwatch Institution stations at Penzance. Gwennap Head and Cape Cornwall were on site to give advice on how to stay safe on the water. There was plenty of advice and engagement about the safe use of the water along with safety advice for users of powered watercraft and wild swimming groups, and the event was attended by many enthusiastic groups and holiday makers. The RNLI put on a wonderful display of rescuing volunteers from the Coastguards who were in the water.

A spokesperson from NCI Penzance said “It was good to meet former NCI volunteers and colleagues from nearby Watch Stations and fellow blue light services”.
